Once it was a hotel - “Kronprinz” or “Principe Ereditario (Crown Prince)” was its original name (1904); later on, after several renovations, it was transformed into a pizza-restaurant; today, it is directly managed by the Caruccio / Francescato family, the first family that ran it at the beginning of the forties. Today, the restaurant of Corso della Libertà, in the heart of the town centre of Merano, accommodates almost two hundred covers in the bright inside halls, the garden and the terrace, where you can choose among food proposals and creations of pizza chefs. The cuisine is inspired by Italian tradition, accompanied during peak tourist periods by typical “Tyrolese” dishes. Different versions of sea food are offered on Thursdays and Fridays: fresh fish is used for creating sauces of delicious first courses but it is also used as the basic food for an excellent second course. Those who prefer pizza are surprised by the embarrassingly wide choice: you will receive a “screed list” containing eighty different versions, from “Classical” pizzas to “Special” and creative pizzas to “White” pizzas and “Focaccia”.
